Sculptures of stone

and women of flesh

in words and pictures

literally

metaphorically

imprinted and poised

on fragile shelves or

precarious pedestals.

This installation consists of five books, cast in Hydrostone. In some installations they lie on

a shelf edged with acanthus

molding; in others they are

positioned on pedestals topped

with corinthian capitals. Printed on

the surfaces of each book are photographic images of caryatids accompanied by verses from a

poem by Romanian poet,

Cristina-Monica Moldoveanu.

Photographs are by both Blaise Tobia and me.
